Alyssa is the Volunteer Coordinator at First Presbyterian Church, helping to make our guests and volunteers feel welcome and informed on a weekly basis. She is involved with our weekly Tuesday night dinners and our Walk-In Ministry, as well as Sunday worship services.
Alyssa graduated with a BA in Psychology from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. She worked for three years as a deacon with her campus ministry, serving for two years as the Deacon of Outreach and Communications and one year as the Deacon of Service. She has a passion for helping others and plans to counsel families, couples, and individuals someday. Before heading back to school to obtain her Ph.D. in clinical psychology, she is doing an intentional year of service through the Pittsburgh Urban Leadership and Service Experience (PULSE) Program. Through her PULSE year, she hopes to grow as a servant leader and to make lasting connections here in the city of Pittsburgh. For more information on PULSE, click HERE.
Alyssa currently resides in the North Side and lives in community with other PULSE fellows. Her interests include graphic design, swing dancing, reading, and journaling. A small fun fact about her is that she loves owls.
