Sunday Morning Worship Service

The 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship hour is a beautiful, traditional Presbyterian service. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated during this service on the first Sunday of the month, and our communion table is open to all baptized Christians.

Please join us this Communion Sunday, September 5 at 10:45 a.m. with Associate Pastor Kay Balderose preaching on "Serving Christ in Your Work," Colossians 3:12-4:1.

  • Praise & Devotions in the Chapel at 9:15 a.m.
  • Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m.
  • Worship Service 10:45 a.m.
  • Hospitality hour—donuts or cookies, punch and coffee— following the service

Tuesday Boost for Pittsburgh  (September-May)

Resumes Tuesday, Sept. 14. This 30-minute, non-denominational Christian service on Tuesdays at 12:25 p.m. provides a break from your workday to explore contemporary issues aimed at helping people live their faith at work. Visit Tuesday Boost

 

Child Care

We welcome infants, toddlers—all children! Your infant / toddler will be well cared for in our Nursery during Sunday School classes and the worship service. Visit Nursery

We welcome children in worship! Following the Children's Message, children above 2nd grade are encouraged to remain in worship with their families. Younger children may attend Children's Worship in Room 4 on the ground floor. Visit Sunday School

  • Validated $1 parking is available on Sundays at the Mellon Square or Smithfield Street garages.

Who We Are

First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh has been reaching out from the heart of this city into the hearts of this city for 237 years. There is a great heritage here. In its long history, our buildings have changed (four times), as have our senior pastors (only 15 of them). But over the past 237 years, the faithfulness of First Church has not changed. Today, we retain our historical, Bible-centered evangelical presence in Downtown Pittsburgh, lifting up Christ and building up people. Our members come from all areas of metropolitan Pittsburgh.
